The challenge for The Plant Party was brand recognition within a crowded market. As a newcomer in 2021, they faced strong, established competition with much larger budgets from investor capital. Plant Party’s launch also coincided with the release of iOS 14.5, which limited ad tracking on Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram), restricting the use of valuable user behavior data for targeting.
The brand’s prior attempts to establish a market presence with social media marketing with past agencies had yielded poor results, with ROIs well below expectations. The company knew it had a high-quality, culturally relevant product, but the brand was struggling to find its voice.
Our custom solution involved an initial in-depth competitor analysis, examining both snack and health product markets. This market research identified the key USPs and consumer personas which allowed us to refine the design and user experience of the website, ensuring a logical and compelling customer journey from first visit to conversion.
We also revamped social media marketing strategies, integrating performance insights from the most successful or up-and-coming competitors, focusing on effective ad formats, messaging, and a robust conversion-driven approach. The key was distilling complex health benefits into clear, compelling messaging and diverse ad formats. We also implemented extensive A/B testing to find the creative that resonated best with the target customer and drove them to make a purchase.
The campaign results for The Plant Party demonstrated significant year over year improvement. From August 2022 to 2023, ROAS increased from around 1 to 2.0. Sales tripled overall which allowed our client to reinvest in product research, development, and explore new marketing channels to new audiences. With their first substantial profits, The Plant Party now has a solid foundation for future growth.
